PATRICK J. TALBOT

Professor Talbot is currently Director of Training at LawyerIndo. He also serves as Vice President of Advocates International (a global lawyers network committed to advancing the rule of law and similar values.)
Prof. Talbot is a well-rounded lawyer, with almost 20 years of legal practice and experience. His various practice areas include Maritime and Aviation Law (with an emphasis on Shipping), International Commercial Litigation, Commercial and Contract Litigation, Insurance Defense and Insurance Coverage Disputes, Human Rights (especially refugees, immigration and anti-trafficking cases), and Non-Profit Law. He is admitted to practice under the Florida Bar, in the USA (since 1993), and in various U.S. Federal Courts.
Since 2005, Talbot has also taught in several international law schools and faculties, including full-time in Korea, and Indonesia. He is also a visiting lecturer in Cambodia and Romania. Schools he had served in as a Professor of Law, or as a full-time lecturer, include Handong International Law School in South Korea (almost 8 years), Trinity International Law School in California (visiting semester), and Pelita Harapan University in Indonesia (5 years).
His subjects include International and Indonesian Commercial Law, International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration, International Trade Law, International Treaty Law, Maritime Law, International Human Rights, International Organizations, International Humanitarian Law, Sociology of Law, Christian Jurisprudence, Agency and Business Associations, Legal Research and Writing, Appellate Advocacy, Legal Skills, and a newer field of Law and Economic Development. Talbot writes and speaks on matters including International Shipping, Corporate Social Responsibility, Constitutional and Human Rights, and Law and Development.
He is involved in activities such as coaching moot court teams, and serving as a moot court judge, especially in International Commercial Arbitration. As Vice President of AI, Talbot is part of a global network of internationally-minded lawyers committed to serving a common good.
