Tony is an accredited mediator and arbitrator in Indonesia and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Tony sits on the panel of approved mediators and arbitrators of domestic and international dispute resolution institutions among others the Asian International Arbitration Center (AIAC – formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA)*, the Indonesian Commodities Arbitration Body (BAKTI), the Indonesia National Board of Arbitration (BANI), and the Conflict Resolution Unit (CRU) of the Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD).
Tony has more than 20 years’ standing as a legal counsel with extensive experience and expertise in Commercial Dispute Resolution (both in Indonesia and overseas); Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring; Environment and Natural Resources. Tony is also one of the few legal practitioners in Indonesia who is qualified as both capital market legal consultant and tax court attorney.
Tony graduated from the University of Tarumanagara, Indonesia, with a Bachelor of Law degree in Business Law (1996) and from the University of Leiden, Netherlands, with a Master of Law degree in International Business Law (2001). In 2006, Tony undertook a Diploma course on International Commercial Arbitration (Diploma CIArb) in the University of Oxford, UK.
Tony has written a number of books, articles and columns and has been a presenter and speaker at numerous seminars, workshops, and courses in Indonesia and overseas on a wide range of subjects, including on business contract, business reorganization, judicial reform, bankruptcy, corporate litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
